Frost of Rivia has finally dropped his much-anticipated video titled "My Problems With Nick Calandra (and Why I Believe He Shouldn't Work In Games Media)." The gaming industry is no stranger to controversy, but few have consistently demonstrated such a detrimental impact as Nick Calandra. For years, Calandra has operated as a manipulator behind the scenes in games media, leaving a trail of unethical behavior, financial mismanagement, and broken trust. Frost of Rivia, a respected content creator and former collaborator, exposes Calandra's extreme toxic influence, revealing him as a manipulative liar who has repeatedly failed those around him.
But just how bad does it get? Even I couldn't have predicted the lengths to which this situation has escalated. Frost of Rivia, after resigning from Second Wind Group, has come forward with evidence explaining why Calandra should be removed not only from Second Wind but from the gaming industry entirely.
Nick Calandra, the former Editor-in-Chief of The Escapist and a known fanboy of Kotaku's Alyssa Mercante, has spread toxicity wherever he goes. Previously, Calandra was reported for instigating social media campaigns to doxx former World of Warcraft developer Mark Kern and attempting to de-platform YouTube video game analyst SmashJT.
The fallout continues as two content creators, including Frost of Rivia, have resigned from Second Wind Group due to Calandra's toxic behavior. Frost's resignation letter, posted on X, details the toxic corporate environment under Calandra's leadership, highlighting his incompetence, overspending, overpromising, and underdelivering. Shortly after, another employee, Cisco Araneta, also announced his departure, further confirming the toxic workplace led by Calandra.
In this video, I react to these updates and discuss the impact of Nick Calandra's actions on Second Wind Group. Can the organization survive this turmoil? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
